Sheltered housing

We manage over 800 properties within the Gedling Borough built for older people to include a social alarm system.

This alarm can be a pull cord or a pendant worn around the neck or on the wrist which can be pressed in the event of a fall or other emergency. This call is then received by our monitoring centre, Nottingham On Call who will find out what help is needed and contact family, friends or emergency services as required. This service is provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our Independent Living Co-ordinators are available five days a week and as well as making sure the property you live in is safe and well maintained, they will also be making weekly contact with tenants to ensure they are well and continue to be able live independently.

This includes carrying out health and safety checks, testing the fire alarms, completing personalised fire safety risk assessments, tenancy reviews and making referrals for adaptations, additional services or seeking advice from other professionals if required.

These properties provide the security of regular contact with staff, a social alarm system for use in emergencies, repairs that are completed by us, and gardens that are tended to.
