A Gedling Homes tenant from Walton Court in Carlton, Nottingham, finally had some great news this week.
After attending our weekly Gedling Homes Work Club in Netherfield for four years, Mark Crocker has been offered a role at an award-winning public house in Lowdham. The position was offered to him, following a successful trial at the pub last week. The tenant said he couldn’t wait to get started and was looking forward to a busy festive season.
Despite one previous short-term contract, innumerable work placements, job applications and interviews, he had not been able to find a permanent job until now. Mark is convinced that the CV Gedling employees helped him compile was crucial to him securing the role.
The Gedling Homes Work Clubs are open to all tenants. The clubs give assistance with CV writing, learning interview techniques, practising interview skills and job searches. This enables our tenants to be better equipped for securing permanent work at a pace that works for them.
Jenny Kaur, another Gedling tenant who has been attending the work club at Netherfield, also recently had some good news. She secured a role in retail at Lakeland Homeware shop in Nottingham.
The club in Netherfield is every Monday from 2-4pm at St George’s Centre. Every Thursday between 2-4pm, there is also a club in Arnold at The Beacon.
